Other common edible varieties include:

* Arame (Eisenia bicyclis)

* Badderlocks (Alaria esculenta)

* Carola (Callophyllis variegata)

* Carrageen moss (Mastocarpus stellatus)

* Cochayuyo (Durvillaea antarctica)

* Dulse (Palmaria palmata)

* Green caviar

* Gutweed (Enteromorpha intestinalis)

* Hijiki or Hiziki (Sargassum fusiforme)

* Irish moss (Chondrus crispus)

* Limu Kala (Sargassum echinocarpum)

* Kombu (Saccharina japonica)

* Nori (various species of the red alga Porphyra)

* Oarweed (Laminaria digitata)

* Sea Belt (Laminaria saccharina)

* Sea Grapes (Caulerpa lentillifera)

* Sea Lettuce

* Spirulina (Arthrospira platensis and Arthrospira maxima)

* Thongweed (Himanthalia elongata)

* Wakame (Undaria pinnatifida)
